UNIDIR's publications are an essential component of
the Institute's outreach. By undertaking, publishing and disseminating
original research, reference materials, summaries of meetings, and
commissioned works, UNIDIR builds awareness and greater understanding
of disarmament and security concerns.
UNIDIR's publication programme has two branches: books
and reports and the quarterly journal Disarmament
Forum (subscribe to Disarmament
Forum).
UNIDIR strives to produce both print and electronic
materials that offer accurate and forward-looking analysis, written
by experts for experts—yet approachable by newcomers to the
field. The Institute's publications are read around the world—reaching
a diverse readership that includes diplomats, governmental officials,
academics, international organizations, researchers, and civil society
groups, as well as United Nations field offices and depository libraries.
