Assessing the SecBio Platform Proposal (Side Event)

This breakfast side event to the BWC Review Conference will present a UNIDIR study on the proposal put forward by France, Senegal and Togo at the Second BWC Preparatory Committee meeting in April 2022, for an international online platform for biosafety and biosecurity, “SecBio”.

The study seeks to assess the usefulness of the three platform components (a searchable repository, a learning module and a forum of experts). It also presents insights for States Parties to consider, drawing from examples of similar initiatives in different fields, laying out the challenges and lessons learned and providing options for advancing the implementation of the initiative.

Breakfast will be served before the event, from 08:30hs.
