Means of Delivery: A Complex and Evolving Issue in the Middle East WMD-Free Zone Initiative (First Committee Virtual Side Event)

This event introduced UNIDIR’s Middle East WMD-Free Zone Project’s publication “Means of Delivery: A Complex and Evolving Issue in the Middle East WMD-Free Zone Initiative”.

The publication examines the history of means of delivery in the context of the Zone, captures and assesses what regional perspectives and concerns are known regarding their inclusion in the Zone, and presents options for states to consider if and when deliberating this issue.

During the event, the author, Mr. Nasser Bin Nasser, Senior Adviser at UNIDIR, discussed the main findings of his paper with Ambassador Benno Laggner, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the IAEA and CTBTO. The event was moderated by the ME WMDFZ Project Head, Dr. Chen Zak Kane, and was followed by a Q&A session.

The report is now available in our Publications section and you can watch the launch event on UNIDIR’s YouTube channel (or below).
