UNIDIR’s research builds awareness and generates knowledge among a broad range of stakeholders, including Member States, technical communities, academia and the private sector, on the implications of increasingly intelligent and autonomous systems for international security. To comprehensively address challenges and maximize the benefits of technological advancements in the area of artificial intelligence and autonomy, the programme also explores options to expand and strengthen the existing arms control “toolbox”.
