The goal of a nuclear-weapon-free world is a longstanding one but remains far from fruition. How can the pursuit of nuclear disarmament be revitalized in the current age? This paper, the fifth in UNIDIR’s nuclear dialogue series, explores this question building on the perspectives of former disarmament diplomat and current strategic commentator Rakesh Sood—and drawing in the views of diverse and informed participants in UNIDIR’s Dialogue on Nuclear Disarmament, Deterrence and Strategic Arms Control.
