María is Project Coordinator for the WMD programme at UNIDIR, focusing on the chemical and biological weapons workstream. She coordinates the Biological Weapons Convention National Implementation Database project, conducts research and analysis on CBW issues, and supports the design and implementation of the programme’s strategies and projects.

Before joining UNIDIR, María was a Policy Leader Fellow at the European University Institute, where she worked on strengthening the participation of the Global South in WMD regimes. Previously, she was a civil servant with ten years of progressive experience at the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she worked on the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. With substantive interdisciplinary training, she holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, and graduated cum laude as a Bachelor in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires.

María speaks English, Spanish and French.
